“In Morgan State wrestling’s return, an Olympic legend eyes new heights”

Morgan State University's first wrestling team since 1997 is the only Division 1 HBCU wrestling team in the country, and its being coached by Olympic gold medalist and three-time All-American wrestler, Kenny Monday. The program at Morgan was launched in partnership with an investment firm and a small group of former wrestlers, who have their sights set on expanding to HBCU women's wrestling programs, and reviving other HBCU wrestling programs which have lacked the support and resources to compete in decades.
